Although just recently introduced to the residential world, these buildings have already been loved and admired by Chicagoans for many years. These brand new luxury apartments in historic buildings have the perfect balance of old and new. Modern amenities and sleek finishes are complemented by the elegant details of old time Chicago!
Formerly known as the Belden-Stratford Hotel, this building sits right across the park from the Lincoln Park Zoo and was frequented by celebrities such as Louis Armstrong and Gloria Swanson. Although it was initially built in 1923, the hotel was converted into Lincoln Park apartments in 2011. Despite its change in use, the building has maintained it’s glamorous lobby and elegant charm.
MDA City Apartments were originally medical and dental office suites. MDA was also home to the Chicago Literacy Club. Although they were originally designed by Daniel Burnham Jr. in 1927, the building became a prime spot for residential luxury living in 2003. The building currently has 190 apartment units and maintained its first floor limestone while also housing state-of-the-art amenities, including a roof deck, a fitness center, and a film theatre.
What is now known as one of the most glamorous luxury apartment buildings in the Gold Coast, 850 N. Lakeshore Drive used to be a prestigious athletic club built in 1927. The 198 residential units were skillfully arranged with open plan kitchens to maximize the natural lighting and lake view. White, scalloped moldings and silver light fixtures add to the allure of the common areas. Each unit has its own special ambiance, due in part to the 64 unique floor plans the building offers.
