24 Hours in Streeterville

It’s the holiday season which means Chicago has a lot of visitors. 7:15 AM

During the warmer months, Streeterville residents love to start the day with Yoga on the Beach at Oak Street Beach. In the winter months, you can still start your day with yoga at Streeterville’s CorePower Yoga location. Students and teachers get a discounted rate. Click here to see the schedule.

8:30 AM

Streeterville is chalk full of great places to brunch. Stop by Kanela Breakfast Club (which also has locations in Old Town and Wicker Park) for Greek takes on brunch favorites, crab cake benedicts, avocado toasts, and cocktails. Kanela also offers the Impossible Burger, a vegan burger patty which many say is indistinguishable from meat.

10:00 AM

See Chicago by bike, kayak, or on foot with Bobby’s Bike Hike. Check out the calendar for special themed tours, including history, landmark, Halloween, mafia, and children’ tours. Tours depart from 540 N Lakeshore Drive and are available year round (with the exception of kayak tours which operate May through October).

12:00 PM

Navy Pier is famous for its iconic Ferris wheel and year round events. View fireworks over Navy Pier every Wednesday and Saturday from Memorial Day to Labor Day at sundown. Winter Wonderfest at Navy Pier operates November 30th to January 6th and features 170,000 square feet of carnival rides,  holiday-themed activities, and an Indoor Ice Skating Rink.

6:00 PM

An Odyssey Cruise is a great way to start the evening. Yachts depart from Navy Pier and each ticket includes a 3 hour cruise on Lake Michigan, a 3-course dinner (menu here), and a live DJ and dance floor. The views of the city from the water are unparalleled.
