Looking for a place to eat with friends can be tricky in West Loop because there are so many great options– it’s hard to agree on just one! That’s where Time Out Market comes in…If you haven’t already jumped on the food hall trend, it’s not too late to start! Food halls are essentially a trendier take on the classic food court, with kiosks where patrons can get their favorite items from a variety of local restaurants.
Time Out Market Chicago is the second largest Time Out Market, after the Lisbon location and will be opening soon in Fulton Market. The 500,000 square foot, three story food hall will house 18 kiosks which will vary in cuisine and style, from fast casual to high end Michelin starred fare. The venue will also have three bars, a demonstration kitchen, and event space, complete with bleacher seating.
So far, the chef roster includes Jimmy Bannos Jr. of Purple Pig, Thai Dang of HaiSous, Brian Fisher of the Michelin starred Entente, Bill Kim of Urban Belly ramen, Dana Salls Cree of Pretty Cool Ice Cream, Zoe Schor of Split Rail fried chicken, Edward Kim of Mott St., and Art Shabez of The Art of Pizza.
Chefs have one year contracts, which they can renew, but Time Out is looking to keep bringing in new dishes and concepts to keep things fresh and interesting for customers. Time Out also shared a vision for the space to function as a multipurpose venue for private events and weddings. According to Chicago Eater magazine, customers can expect to spend about $20 to $30 on lunch or dinner.
