Nevele22 (1122 W Chicago Ave) is one of River West’s newest luxury apartment buildings, with studio, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments (a total of 97 units) preleasing this spring. This new luxury building will offer stunning, modern interiors, thoughtful layouts, and state of the art amenities, all in the desirable and convenient River West neighborhood! Nevele22 is also leasing 1000-6005 square feet of divisible retail space at the ground level. There are also whispers that a restaurant with outdoor seating could also be in the ground level at Nevele, although this is not confirmed.

River West has been booming, with total deliveries of nearly 1000 new rental units over the past couple years. Nevele22 will be next to join the ranks alongside Spoke, Linkt, Avenir, and Westerly. As more residential buildings have sprung up in the area, so have coffee shops, restaurants, and doggie daycares. Primitive – 130 N Jefferson St.
There are some furniture stores where it helps to know what you’re looking for before you go. This is not one of those places. Primitive, on the eastern end of the West Loop, features both modern and antique furniture, accent pieces, jewelry, artifacts, lighting, paintings, textiles, and more from over 100 different cultures around the globe. According to their site, Primitive’s collection is “from some of the world’s hardest to reach places and everything has been carefully selected for its inherent merit and meaning”. Although it is temporarily closed, their “Buddha Room” is a popular event venue. Primitive can feel more like a museum than a store. 2018 has been a big year for River West between the successful lease up of Spoke, a mixed-use, two-tower high-rise, the approval of 742 N. Aberdeen, a 188-unit rental building, and the groundbreaking of Avenir luxury apartments.
New Construction
Avenir luxury apartments are under development at the corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Carpenter Street and is expected to be 23 stories upon completion in quarter four of 2019. The glass and brick River West high-rise will include 226 apartment units, 97 parking stalls, and 2,300 square feet of retail space. Like Spoke and 742 N. Aberdeen, Avenir will be a transit-oriented development, less than a block from the CTA Blue Line.

Although there is much about this River West development that has yet to be announced, early renderings suggest that Avenir will be an amenity building with plenty of rooftop green space.
