Both on Fulton Market, there’s Roister, known for its elevated rustic fare, and Next, which highlights a theme, region or moment in time on menus that change several times a year.

More Celebrity Chefs: Stephanie Izard (Top Chef, James Beard) has three “goat” restaurants in the area; Joe Flamm (Top Chef) mixes Italian and Croatian at Rose Mary; and brothers Michael and Brian Voltaggio (both of whom competed on Top Chef and Food Network’s Tournament of Champions) are launching a steakhouse, Fioretta, in 2023.

• West Loop Art Fest takes over four blocks on the first weekend in September, filling them with artists, wine tastings, children’s crafts and live music. Another plus — admission is free!
• The Taste of Fulton Market started in 2021 as a rooftop event at Morgan’s on Fulton then took over all three levels of the building in 2022, establishing it as a save-the-date September event.
• The Rooftop Cinema Club meets regularly atop the Emily Hotel for a slate of cult films, classics, recent releases and special events with the added attraction of the hotel’s full food and drink menu — but it’s BYOB (bring your own blanket).
