New West Loop Office Buildings Feature Apartment-Like Amenities

Monday, October 28th, 2019

The West Loop office market saw a huge increase in momentum in 2018 and is not showing signs of slowing up anytime soon. The West Loop has become an attractive area for tech companies, many of which appear to place an emphasis on employee work-life balance and healthy lifestyle. In turn, newer office building developments have started to include features and amenities geared toward the desires of these tech-culture companies. The amenities in many of these office buildings resemble the amenities you might see in residential buildings in the area.

320 N Sangamon is a 13 story office tower that recently broke ground in what was formally the AmeriGas Propane facility. The Fulton Market building will feature 268,000 square feet of office space, 7,800 square feet of ground level retail space, and plenty of additional amenity space. Office tenants will enjoy use of a fitness center with group fitness classes, a lounge space with curated services, a bike room, and an open-air communal penthouse with an outdoor terrace and fire pits. 320 N Sangamon has a 2021 expected completion date.

Amenities will include a state-of-the-art fitness center, multiple outdoor terraces, a drawing room, and a group fitness studio. Renderings also include a walkway between the development’s two buildings.

333 N Green Street is another creative Fulton Market office and retail space, being developed by Sterling Bay and designed by Gensler, in the site of what was formerly Coyne College. As far as amenities go in West Loop office space, 333 N Green takes the cake. Office tenants will have access to a skydeck overlooking the skyline, a lounge with grab-and-go food service, a bar, gaming area, a full service fitness center (that looks more like a health club), yoga studio, shuttle service to and from Ogilvie and Union stations, bike room, conference center, 24-hour door staff, on site retail, parking, and valet dry-cleaning.
