The Paragon, a 47-story contemporary mixed-use high-rise, will offer 7,500 square feet of retail space as well as 500 luxury units that will range in size from studio, one, two, and three-bedroom apartments. The luxury rental building will be located in the South Loop at 1326 South Michigan and is expected to open its doors in Spring of 2019.
The contractor, Walsh Construction, is no stranger to building this high quality caliber of inventory. Walsh’s portfolio includes multiple other South Loop luxury apartment buildings, including 1001 S. State and this year’s Alta Roosevelt. Co-developer, CIM group, was also responsible for developing the popular Marquee at Block 37 high-rise in 2016.

What we can expect in terms of the interiors at The Paragon is yet to be announced. However, early renderings suggest that amenities will be state-of-the-art.

Amenities at The Paragon will include a co-working space with a library, multiple resident lounges, a spa with a steam room, sauna, and hot tub, and a 47th floor sky lounge entertainment room. Outdoor amenities will include a pool deck with cabanas, multiple grill stations, and a dog park.
The Paragon will have a glassy exterior, reflecting the lake and skyline.
What do residents love most about South Loop living?
The South Loop is home to an abundance of green space, convenient transportation, cultural attractions, and many grocery stores.
On weekends stop by the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, or Art Institute to soak up some Chicago culture. The scenic lakefront extends to 319 acres of recreational green space, which, in the summer, is used to host live events including the Taste of Chicago and Lollapalooza. Grant Park is also a favorite South Loop destination, especially for dog owners because of the adjacent dog park. The South Loop is near Soldier Field, home to the beloved Chicago Bears. Additionally, the South Loop is just a few minutes from McCormick Place, one of the largest conference centers in the United States.
Multiple grocery stores including Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, GoGrocer, and Mariano’s are all located within the South Loop. Lakeshore Drive, I-90/94 (Dan Ryan Expressway), and the LaSalle Street Metra train station are located nearby, as well as the Roosevelt CTA train station, which provides access to the orange line to Midway Airport as well as the red and green line trains.
